My natural affinity for theatre began as a keen nine-year old High Anglican altar boy. The costumes were cracking, the lighting subdued, the rituals perfected, the wine well worth a swig while picking up the wafers backstage.
It hasn’t been all theatre since, far from it. But it is the case that of all the things I focus on creatively, uniquely I am never tired working in a rehearsal room or a theatre. I am never, in fact, more energised. Knackered before and after but not for a second working with actors on a stage.
That’s how you know, right?
